im new to macs. i open garage and i select "open existing projects". it opens "my song bla bla". when i try to drag it wont let me. it only allows me to open. i have so many "my songs" its crazy.
The "recent" bit is just a list, it doesn't hold anything. You have to go to Finder (
) and find the
file to delete it.
I have to concede that I have very little experience with WIndows, but is it not the same way? Find the "file", drag it to the recycle bin? (I honestly would appreciate a bit of education, here, tnx!)
you can do it like this (this is the long way there):
from desktop
click open>MacintoshHD
click open>Users folder
click open>(your User folder with the little house)
click open>Music folder
click open>Garageband folder
right there are all your band files that you work off of. Drag what you don't want into the trash. After you empty the trash ou will never know of them ever again. Peace. Enjoy your Mac & Garageband.
Also, while on the subject of trashing; be aware of saving. If there is a band file you want to retain the integrity of, you absolutely MUST save it as a "Save Archive". If you don't, there will come a day when you kick yourself in the butt wishing that you had.
click>open your garageband .band folder of the song you want to save
click>"File" up in the menu bar at the top of the desktop
click>"Save As Archive"; then the .band file will have all your work in it, like an instrument you tweeked special for that song or loops that you added then never needed to use ever again, so you ditched them.
thank you so much i cant tell you how frustrating that was. everthing in help kept leading me to delete tracks. most people ive talked to didnt realize i was trying to delete the songs from a list i couldnt drag out of. you rule!!! hope i could return the favor. thanks, late
