Earpiece/Headphones 3.5mm not working unless speaker switched on and off on iPhone 6s iOS 10.3.3

Hi,

There's a strange problem with my iPhone 6s and I am not sure if this is hardware or software issue.

With my headphones (3.5mm jack) inserted, first when I make a call, I cannot hear in headphones. Once I switch to speaker and then after I switch it off, I can then hear in my headphones.

When I used the iPhone 7 jack for the same headphones, I can hear in the headphones in the first attempt !

Worse is the case with whats App. It doesn't work after toggling from speaker.

Same issue persists for Earpiece. Cant hear at all unless I toggle the phone to speaker and back to earpiece.

Anyone facing similar issue? Not sure if this just a software bug or hardware issue.

iPhone 6s, iOS 10.3.3, null
