Slow contacts search is very bad for iPhone in Business

I'm a CEO of Real Estate company. All people in company use IPhone. We Synchronize all contacts with Office365 and now we have about 11000 in IPhone. It very handy for us!

We can quick find contact at Search at the top of a screen - but here we could not to edit contact:

But if we try to search at Contacts - its TOO LONG: maybe 10 seconds IPhone 6 Freeze. And only here we can edit contact.

I think its bug - because some IOS versions ago was not the problem about it.

How can we ask Apple to fix it?

I think this problem is very bad for iPhone in Business

I had this problem since IOS9. just got an iphone8 with ios 11 and problem continued. I finally discovered that in one of my contacts i had inadvertantly added a lot of emails into the notes area of one contact. i mean a lot of material in notes. once i deleted the extraneous material from that one contact my contact search is now blazing fast.

THANK YOU! I think that's when iphone started to suck for me too. I believe it was when ios9 came (the ios where notes could have photos and rich media embedded in them) that my contacts, notes, and even sms messages got SLOW and would freeze. @Jacanapple do you have lots of notes and contacts? Is it only doing this to people like me and @Rysev (the original poster) because we have 10,000 notes and contacts? I'm trying to get to the bottom of this. It's gotten a little better with my recent upgrade to 11.0.3, but I still can't use notes on my iphone, pretty much at all, just freeze and slow.

Is it because it can't serve them fast enough from the cloud? I've started using Google Keep, but I prefer Apple's notes program and really want to be able to search my notes when I'm on my device. Anyone else have advice? Rysev and Jacanapple, let's figure this out! Thank you!

You are doing two separate things, each of which causes tremendous slowdown in the speed of a Contacts search.

  • You have eleven thousand contacts! Do you really need that many folks? Have you gone through each of the eleven thousand names recently to delete those you no longer need? You have more than a hundred times as many contacts as I do.
  • You are synchronizing your contacts using Office365. That's fine, but you should realize this takes time and effort each time you access your contacts.
