How do I type circled numbers in Pages?

Way back they had them in the character viewer?

Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), 22 GB RAM

You can roll your own. Type any single digit. Next, in the Emoji's & Symbols (character) palette, search for the word circle. From the results of that search, there will be a larger open circle as the fourth item down in the left column. This is known as a Combining Enclosing Circle.

When you double-click the shaded circle above, immediately following a number entry, it will enclose the number (or any character) in a circle. Also, its neighbor is the combining enclosing circle backslash.

"Often, you will see Unicode characters represented as U+2460 ① . You can actually type this unicode string in the Character Viewer search window, and the corresponding character code will appear. In HTML, it would be represented as "①" without the quotes. You can see these values in the previously linked Enclosed Alphanumerics chart."
