Two-factor Authentication Problems

I have an iPhone and MacBook pro I travel with, an iMac at my office, and an iPad and Apple TV at home. No matter where I am, the iPad at home gets sent the verification code. Is there a way to prioritize my iPhone to receive these messages? It's of no use if I'm at work or traveling to have the code sent to a sleeping device at home.

Any help welcome. Thanks.

There isn't a way to prioritize the devices. This may not help, but the way it should work (and does for me) is that the verification code should be automatically sent to all of your trusted devices at the same time (although I've noticed a small lag on some devices and on some occasions not all devices are notified) including the device that you are using if it is already a trusted device. The following has more information: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support and if it isn't working automatically the following may also help: Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support

Hi, Thank you for your reply. I've had 2-factor running all summer and there is no delay, the code only consistently sent to the iPad, everything is hit or miss. In fact I didn't get one when logging-in to reply to your message.

I'm familiar with the code request, it is a functional, if frustratingly disruptive work-around. I just expected better from Apple.
