MWB for mac has gone from an application that did not stay resident to an Application that does stay resident, they also have changed their business model; the free version is now a 30 day trial.

In the past I would readily recommend MWB but since this decision to follow a model closer to that of Anti-Virus products for Mac in both the trial and the stay resident state I have not tested the product with enough scrutiny to tell you that in my personal opinion that it's still the application I trusted and recommended.

At this time I recommend Etrecheck for malware and adware removal, and also identify other potential or actual isuses with your Mac. You can read more about it on the etrecheck site and it is commonly requested by the volunteers to be used here to diagnose a litany of Mac issues.

Have you used ClamXAV? It is so far much better than Malwarebytes that is no longer sold through the AppStore. It was two weeks ago. I was infected with lots of malware, but the scene with Malwarebytes did not catch any of it. When I downloaded ClamXAV and ran it - WOW! It found so much on my computer I was astonished! I am going to try Etrecheck and see if it is better. I also had no idea that I did not have to load it into my Applications file and could use it only for my Downloads file! I will now remove Malwarebytes from my computer!
