unable to trust email server
My wife's new iPad, with ios 10.3.3 tells me that it can not verify the server identity for outgoing mail. There is no option to trust it. How do I trust this server?

OK, I think I've fixed this. I followed someone else's advice in another thread to delete the account, setup another one, go to server list and delete the problem server. Then re-boot, go to mail settings and add back the problem email account which then says that server can not be verified but does allow for the certificate to be trusted. Having trusted the server the account then works OK. Interestingly the authentication seems to have defaulted to MD5 rather than password.
I just had this problem on my iPhone (iOS 10.3.3), and was able to fix it without deleting the problem email account. Fortunately I had access to another account (actually my wife's) on the same server. I deactivated (but did not delete) my account, and then added her account to my device. As described by others, I got the option to trust the certificate, which was the same certificate as that on the problem account. I then checked to see that the new account was working on my phone. I then re-booted the phone, and re-activated the problem account. I checked to make sure the problem account was working again, then deleted the other account I had just added.
So if you're fortunate enough to be able to access another account on the same server which is not presently set up on your device, you might be able to avoid deleting and re-installing the problem account.
Should ask them why.
Settings > Mail > Accounts > tap your account > Account > tap your e-mail address > OUTGOING MAIL SERVER > SMTP > tap your server > PRIMARY SERVER > Authentication > here your DigiCert token.
Ask your e-mail provider, they should have a certificate for authentication.
email provider and their server(s) have appropriate certificate from DigiCert.
>>>>Authentication only allows for Password, MD5, NTLM, HTTP MD5 Digest. I've got password selected which worked fine on old iPad and still does on iPhone.
Glad you got it working.
