Resetting the Home screen layout removes all folders, restores the original wallpaper and returns the Home screen and all apps to their original layout (third-party apps are listed after built-in apps). It does not delete data.

Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Reset Home Screen Layout.

Along with restoring other backed up content and settings, restoring your iPhone from a previous backup would restore the Home screen layout from when that backup was made. However, note that new content since the date of that backup would be lost.

Reset home screen layout will re-arrange all your apps on your home screens - so if you've created app folders and have your apps arranged on different screens, then you will lose that layout if you reset it.
