MacBook Air country code: how to change?

I have been having problems for some time with keeping an internet connection on public wifi networks (e.g. public library, Starbucks, etc.). I connect OK and I am good for a few minutes, but then my wifi seems to hang or disconnect causing me to log-off and back on to reconnect and go for a few more minutes.

I suspect that the problem might stem from my MacBook Air's country code which is showing US when I run diagnostics, although I am in Canada - and using routers with the CA country code.

How can I change my MacBook Air laptop's country code from US to CA?

Thank you for your help/thoughts!!

Thank you very much for your reply, and suggestion.

Through System Preferences > Language & Region > Region > Americas ... I am set-up as Canada, so I am unsure where my MacBook Air country code setting might be since it is still set as US rather than Canada. Naturally, if you have others suggestions, I am more than willing to try.

Thank you!
