Why does screen go dark on iPod touch after accidentally dropping it into a pool?
iPod touch, iOS 9.3.2, 6th generation, 128GB, Gold
The device has been damaged by water. Leaving the device powered on is only speeding up the damage. Turn it off if this just happened and place it in a sealed bag of rice for 5-7 days and they test it after that. It will fail eventually, but this may give you enough time to back the device up.
Really???...
You dropped a non-waterproof mobile device into a pool of water, and create a post asking why your iPod is not working properly????
Again, really????...
Your iPod Touch is water damaged!!!
You are probably out of luck!
Apple, probably, will NOT repair it.
Out of warranty replacement costs maybe close to the cost of a new iPod Touch 6th generation.
You will end up with a non-functioning iPod soon.
You may need to purchase a new iPod Touch.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished identical model for $129. at any Apple store or authorized seller. For more information see: iPod Service Answer Center - Apple Support
Make an appointment and explain it to Apple and they will provide your options.
Don't bother....he's back.

You probably missed the entire post that I saw, that was edited just shortly after my response. But yes, I agree.
I don’t need to repair, all I need is to give her an iPod Touch 6G because I have an iPod Touch 128GB Blue in my closet.
