In grave need of assistance..!

After having upgraded my airport express and some security items..when
I wanted to open my garageband it said "Timeout or timer inactive", check
other applications using timer or midi..! So to my dismay I was not able to
open important recordings I´ve made. I went to utility disks and went
through with permissions..but no change, also it read that : mac osx midi
sevices not avaiable..when it came to playing tracks.

Appreciate any help..!

I truely appreciate you assistance..espesially were you have been the only one so far who has taken any interest (and I have been asking for help on other mac forums as well..!). I have followed all instructions, but all is as before. Bizarr that from only what seem as innocent upgrades that have nothing to do with GB and are recomended from Apple can cause such turmoil!!!

thanks again..

I understand from your first post that you can't even play back from GB? I think the next step would be to trash the driver - it's probably in (hard disk)>Library>Audio>MIDI Drivers, or possibly in the equivalent folder in the Library in your Home folder. Drag it to the trash and restart. If you can now at least open and play GarageBand it proves it's the driver, and you will have to look for an update or approach M-Audio for help. If you still have the same problem then I'm afraid I'm out of ideas.
