Multi APN support in iOS?

Hi there

iOS for a long time didn't support multi -APN support. Now I'm told it does.

I'm looking for info on Apple iOS in regards to understanding limitations and capabilities in recent versions of iOS to support configuration of up to 5 APNs ( 3 MS + 2 US, or 4 MS + 1 US). If multiple APNs are supported, I'd also like to understand the method(s) used for apps to bind to each specific APN.

Could you possibly provide any information or pointers in these regards?

Hi,

Why would you want these settings put into the phone at all times? as you can only use one at a time with the sim card put into your phone. And when the new sim is put into the phone the APN settings are updated.

Hi

Thanks for your reply . The Enterprise use I'm looking at needs multi-apn to access various different services across multiple APNs . This is supported in Android.

1) Do you know if iOS supports multi APN use akin to Android?

2) Do you know how the services bind to the APNs?

Any help appreciated.

if you have your devices on the provisioning portal for your devices then yes but! only 2.

I have heard of an app that does this not sure if it's still around but it was called 'apn Switcher'

Many thanks, I'm being told that iOS new supports up to 5 simultaneous APNs? I wonder where I could verify that or if it isn't true.

I don't know who told you that but no, the iPhone supports only one APN.

Tx for your reply hopefully we are talking about Access Points Names (APNs) here as opposed to Apple Push Notifications (Also known as APNs) ?

We are. You may want to call AppleCare and ask for someone from Enterprise support and see if there is another route you can take to accomplish your goal.
