The movie is 1 hour 49 minutes. I started one before expiration. The movie did stop in the middle of it. That is very unfortunate that Apple is doing this. Is this how it should be treating your customer.

It sounds like you are referring to a movie you rented. In the U.S. (it's similar in other places but perhaps somewhat different time numbers), expiration occurs 24 hours after the movie is first viewed. So that means:

  • You had started to watch this movie much earlier (perhaps 23 hours earlier, depending on your country).
  • You had the opportunity to view it an unlimited number of times within the 24 hour period after you first started to watch it.
  • You chose to start watching it (again) one hour prior to expiration.

Next time, you'll probably do things a bit differently related to rentals.

What I am saying to not just iTunes and any companies with movie rental business is this: It does not hurt to play the movie to the end even though the expiration time is at the middle of the time the movie is playing. Here is my full story: I rented the movie on 7/24 (downloaded from iTunes Movie to my ipad) for my entertainment on a plane. It said that clearly that the movie was going to expire in 30 days. After a long trip, I got home about 28 days later. I forgot about it until the 30th day. I looked it the movie on ipad. It said it was going to expire in 1 hour. Even though I was not in the mood of watching but I did started the movie. It was a good movie. Suddenly, the movie stopped. I tapped the play button. It said it was not authorized. I only needed about another 15 minute to finish the movie. At that time, my option is to rent the movie again to finish the ending. I did not because that was the second time I rented the movie. To all companies, it goes a long way if you give a little extra to your customers when the situation is called for.
