Activity Monitor energy impact Watts or KiloWatts?

Hi there,

Does anyone know what the energy impact measurement in activity monitor actually stands for, I assume W or KW..

Is there any way to calculate to impact to the amount of Watts used?

Thanks in advance!

Certainly not kilowatts! If that were the case My iMac would currently be consuming more than a three-bar electric fire. The numbers seem to be arbitrary, their significance being relative. This article goes into it in some detail:

If you are concerned, you could get one of those devices you plug into the electrical socket, and you then plug your Mac into, and which shows you the current or power consumed. You will find that your Mac only consumes a few watts.
