The reason it doesn't go over well is because if someone is angry and in a very negative frame of mind, especially of the "Apple is bad/stupid/evil" variety, it's almost impossible to help the. It makes absolutely no difference to me how people feel about Apple, Google or the Queen of England. Those feelings have no place in a technical support question. I think I'm not alone.

So while I agree with your final advice, I do take umbrage at your insinuation that we are all somehow crazed Apple fans who can't bear criticism of Apple.

Well, if you are going to return a device based solely on the actions of a single app, then yes, you are better off returning it and purchasing something else that meets your needs. Good luck.
