Two iphones, only want to carry one

I have a work model, small screen, and they have no intentions of upgrading. As much as I use it for personal and work, Id like to get a 7 plus.

I understand I can forward calls easy enough from the work phone to the personal, but how do you handle SMS texts. I THINK using the same apple ID for both may solve some of this, but I am not sure.

So basically, how do I leave the work phone at home, carry the personal, and get my work calls and SMS/iMessage texts on the personal?

Thanks.

Why don't you just talk to your employer about it. They may agree to just reimburse you for part of the cost of your cellular plan if you use your own phone and service instead of theirs... You could use a service like Google Voice to get a second number for use as a 'business' line so you can receive calls and messages on your personal phone without having to give out your personal phone number.
