To arrange service under the Limited Warranty or AppleCare+, follow the instructions here to contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider:
If there is something wrong with the device and it is less than 14 days, I would return the device to Best Buy for a refund. You can then purchase a new device, rather than wait for it to be repaired.
If were intending to make a claim under AppleCare+ for accidental damage to your son's Apple Watch, then keep in mind that, under Best Buy's returns policy, items that have been damaged by the user are nonreturnable:
