error 36 with numpy file

Hello,

I am transferring files from one hard drive to another. I am getting the error 36 code and the culprit is always a numpy ".npy" file. I ran dot_clean on the hard drive but that doesn't help, which makes sense because it isn't a "._" file causing the problem. The file causing the problem is always called "x_train_80_20.npy." There's no "._" in it.

If anybody has any insight it would be highly appreciated.

The first thing that I would recommend is mounting the drive, and then running Disk Utility to apply first aid to that drive. If first aid completes with green, then the next paragraph, otherwise report back what it says here.

Then try the file transfer of just that particular .npy file using the same technique as before. If the I/O error persists, then that file is probably perched on a bad spot on the drive, and you should be looking for another copy of that particular file. If the I/O error reoccurs, but with a different filename, then the drive is failing.

Do you happen to have DiskWarrior v5?
