Does iCloud drive sync file comments?
It looks as if files synced by iCloud drive don't retain their file comments across machines. Is this a known issue? Does anyone else experience this?

No, I mean comments added at the finder level. Hit command-I on any file in the finder and you'll see a comments field in the window that pops up. (You can also view them in list view if the display options are set appropriately.)

I believe the retention of file comments may depend on the formatting of the containing drive, as I suspect iCloud sync files may go onto storage which is other than HFS. You may be able to test this if you have any DOS, NTFS or non HFS drives or USB sticks (I don't), place a file on the drive, give it a comment, unmount and mount it again and see if the comments remain.
Thanks for the response! It seems strange that Apple wouldn't support the features of their own file system in their cloud service.
(On a side note: I tried copying the same file(s) to DropBox and found that they synced with comments intact.)

What is "file comments"? Are you referring to comments added to, let's say, a Pages document? If so, it's working for me.
