Apple Music - Listening on other device

On both my phone and my computer I keep getting the pop up (see image). User uploaded file

I am NOT listening on another device. This has been happening to both my and my wife, any ideas of how to make this stop happening? Sometimes its once a day, and other times its like every 10 minutes when listening to music.

Hey crockettjf,

If I understand correctly, you are trying to listen to Apple Music but it says you are listening on another device. This happens if you have an individual membership and use the Apple ID on multiple devices. If it is happening to you and your wife, it sounds like you may be using the same Apple ID on different devices. You can try using a Family Membership and create another Apple ID.

Hey Starr.C,

Thanks for the response, but this is not the problem. We both have our own Apple ID's that we use for Apple Music, and we are on a family plan. I have my Apple ID set up on Apple Music on 3 devices, but never try to listen to them at the same time. Have you seen/heard of anything like this happening before?

How is this marked as 'solved'?! Clearly not, if 100's of others (including myself) have the same issue...

If someone actually has the answer to this issue please let us know, but I wouldn't mark this as 'solved' or the Apple support team may not view the thread thinking it has been fixed.

so does this mean we lose all the music we've been building up for years and have to pay again to do so on a family plan? and my kids have to start their own accounts? if that's the case think ill have to reconsider getting them apple products for the holidays this year, they love their music all in one place but I can't have it overlapping as it does now.
