Is Phone Rescue or any other downloadable software a good option to try to recover photos from an iPhone that Apple Genius Bar could not recover/non-responsive and only a restore is recommended to make operational again. Attempting to salvage photos that were never saved to iCloud - account was never setup, nor was phone ever connected to a computer/iTunes.

Thanks for reply Deggie. Do you trust any of the online downloadable software options (i.e.. PhoneRescue, Dr. Fone, Primo iPhone Data Recovery) or any suggestion(s)?
I've contacted some local Apple authorized repair sites in Miami and they will recover data for a steep charge, but the phone will be returned damaged/inoperable. Thus I am trying to find a solution that will allow me to recover photos (approx. 100+GB) and not have to dish out an extra $900 to buy a new phone. The Apple Store recommended an out if state data recovery company that charges $1200+ and I have not contacted them to verify if phone will be returned in working condition.

There is no recovery software that will work. Your only option to get anything off of that iPhone, assuming it did not go into recovery mode when it failed, would be to go to a 3rd party repair site and see if they can repair the hardware failure that has occurred without replacing the iPhone.
