Sprint iPhone 6 (Model A1586)

Can I use my Sprint iPhone 6 (Model A1586) with another US carrier? It's been unlocked by Sprint and I checked the IMEI online and it's clear. However, when I put in a T-Mobile SIM, it says it does not support it.

So after calling a third time to confirm the unlock, I backed up my phone and restored it to factory settings and it still did not work. Went to a Sprint store and they told me the phone will not work on T-Mobile even when it's unlocked. I called T-Mobile and they confirmed it. This was not what Apple told me when I purchased the phone and T-Mobile told me it would work when I signed up for service. Everyone is so dishonest.

Both Sprint and T-Mobile were less than truthful. They were either ignorant of the facts, or they simply lied.

The phone will work on T-Mobile if unlocked. There is no financial incentive for Sprint to unlock your phone. When they do so, you will leave their network. There is also no financial incentive for T-Mobile to help you bring your Sprint phone to their network. They will make more money if you buy a new phone.

Get hold of Sprint again and escalate the call. Threaten to involve the FCC and the FTC if you have to.

If you're getting a message that the SIM is unsupported, the phone is not unlocked. You can't check the IMEI online to see if it is actually unlocked... no 3rd party has legitimate access to that information.

It's possible you didn't do your part to complete the unlocking process. See this document: How to unlock your iPhone - Apple Support

If it still doesn't work, contact Sprint. They didn't unlock it.

I called Sprint last week and they confirmed it was unlocked. I went to T-Mobile over the weekend and the SIM was not working so they told me to call Sprint again to check. I called today and they confirmed again that the phone is unlocked for both domestic and international use but I'm getting the same message when I put in the T-Mobile SIM. Any other way to verify if it is unlocked?
