If you buy an iPhone from any Apple Store in the USA, you have a 14 day unconditional return period. You can return it to any Apple Store in the USA. Make sure to keep the receipt, box and everything that was in the original packaging.
After 14 days though, Apple will not accept it for refund or exchange. You own it at that point.

Apple has said nothing about any new iPhone. Until they actually announce something, all anyone else says is mere rumor and speculation.
Everyone will know about a new iPhone at the same time - whenever Apple formally announces it. To date, Apple has said nothing, not one word, about any new iPhone.
The return period for an iPhone is 14 days with Apple. Since there has been no announcement about a new iPhone, whatever it is going to be called, I doubt you would meet the 14 day period.

Yes, anything purchased at any Apple Store in the USA can be returned at any Apple Store in the USA (as long as you have your receipt).
