For what it's worth, I had this problem too both end of last year and today - tried updating online via the Apple website (changed to PayPal, updated credit card expiry, changed to a different credit card) and nothing worked. Continual crashes. And I'm on the latest version as well.

I thought changing to PayPal was going to work, but then it needed a verification code to be sent to my mobile As soon as I did then in iTunes, when trying to purchase music, I entered the never ending loop of crashes again.

I FIXED IT this morning:

  1. in iTunes, went into billing info, and selected "none".
  2. It somehow let me save without any payment method.
  3. When I then went to buy music, I was able to enter credit card details completely fresh, save and then buy music.

No idea why this worked, but am glad it did!

I have this same problem.

Its lasted since early December. I've tried clicking "none" and changing it later, I;ve tried updating my billing info on Apple, no matter what it still wants me to verify when I attempt to buy a song. Crashes as soon as I try to click on any of the info within the change payment screen. Using latest version.

February and no fix. Left scratching my head.

UPDATE

For heck's sake i tried the "None" method again , and suddenly it worked. I'm GTG. Frustrating though.

awesome. i really like how they assembled the monopoly around the ownership of digital media and then just decided they don't really give a **** about any of it anymore. the latest updates work on a handful of machines for a week or two? good enough, send it.

this is the third terminal error i've gotten in the past decade or so that completely bricks iTunes on one of my machines. the other two were never resolved, don't know why i'd expect this one to be any different. quality stuff, guys.

they don't even have a functional browser page for you to use when their ******** application stops working. i don't even mean it in the sense that their browser **** doesn't work, i mean it in the sense that they flat out just haven't bothered with browser functionality, like what the ****? lol. what year is it? this is fundamental ****, you clowns.

whatever. i'd rather have hard copies anyway, they look better than the empty shelves on my bookcase.
