USB vs Thunderbolt ethernet adaptor? Looking to connect an ethernet cable to my MacBook Pro (Late 2012)

I'm looking to connect an ethernet cable to my MacBook Pro (Late 2012)... looking for recommendations on devices and/or what works best, USB vs Thunderbolt? Is one faster than the other? Thanks!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Hi,

There is an excellent discussion on it here: Should I use a Thunderbolt adapter or a USB 3.0 adapter for ethernet? - Ask Different

My take away from it is that USB may use more CPU than Thunderbolt, and have more latency; it is arguable that this is noticeable. Beyond that, your Ethernet connection is extremely unlikely to achieve the maximum potential of either one, so you may just want to choose whichever one is cheaper or which port you want to use/leave open.
