IPad Mini Problems.

Recently my IPad Mini continually shuts down for no reason and now it won't rotate when turning the unit? Someone please help!

iPad Mini Wi-Fi, iOS 9.3.5

Hi. For rotation, if you've enabled the side switch for rotation lock (Settings > General > USE SIDE SWITCH TO > Lock Rotation), try moving the switch back and forth a few times, firmly. It may be getting dicky from old age. If not using the switch, check the lock icon in Control Center.

Shutting down may be more of a problem. Does it actually power off, so that you see the Apple when you turn it back on? Or does it just go black, so you see the lock screen when waking it up?

The IPad powers down and shows the Apple until it powers up, but it also powers down and shows the lock screen as well. I tried your suggestion but it didn't work so maybe it's simply "done" and we need a new one? If we get a new one, can we transfer the data from the old one to the new one?

If you do end up purchasing a new iPad you should be able to set the new device up using a backup of your original device.

You will just want to make sure that backing up in enabled withing iCloud
