iOS mail app - no delete option with some accounts

Hello all,

I have the following issue with iOS 10 mail app on iPhone SE. I have two accounts set up in the mail app, an university account and a Gmail account.

The strage thing is that the app seems to behave different with each account. Specifically mails from GMail don't offer in the mail list the left swipe option to delete the mail (but only to archive etc.) Also when viewing a single mail at the bottom there is also no delete button. In contrast the university account offers both in list view and in single mail view the trash icon.

Where is the problem? How can I get the trash icon everywhere?

You can also force your email account to display the Trash option. Go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tap your Gmail account. Tap Account -> Advanced to bring up more options. Tap ‘Deleted Mailbox’ under the heading, Move discarded messages into; you’ll see that the default option is ‘Archive Mailbox’. Tap Account and then Done to confirm the changes.
