I was having a problem with a anti virus on my Mac Book. On chat a person came on saying they were with Apple and could remove it and add a anti maiware and anti virus program, they did and now I find out it was not Apple How do I get rid of this

Its malwarebytes that came unannounced and I removed the app from Applications but cannot get rid of the logo in my top menu. Its always popping up to ask if I want to download.
