What is the physical size of my hard drive?

I was just wanting to know, since I was planning on buying an SSD, what the physical size and width etc. of my hard drive was, and if the SSD I wanted to get would fit? I have a MacBook Pro late 2011, 13", 2.4ghz. The SSD I want to get is a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB, SATA 3, 2.5", dimensions: 2cm x 14cm x 15cm. Also, what SATA can my computer support, and if 2, will it not work with a SATA 3?

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.6), Late 2011

Your Mac takes a standard 2.5" or laptop sized hard drive. 2.5" hard drives are all the same size. So that's the size you look for. 2.5".

Sata drives are backwards compatible. So you can get a SATA 3 drive and it will work in a Sata 2 or 1 connection , but will only operate at the speed for whatever Sata version the Mac supports.

However your Mac supports Sata III just fine. So that drive should work fine.
