Application windows turn red

I'm on a 2016 MBP 15" with touchbar running OSX 10.12.6.

Graphics:

Radeon Pro 450 2048 MB

Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB

My laptop will have application windows turn bright red when they've been idle in the background in non-active desktop spaces. When the affected window has to be redrawn, the red goes away. Sometimes it is only part of the appliation that turns red. Most recently the part of my desktop that had icons turned red for me. It also often happens to Feedly, Kiwi for Mac, and Slack, which are often unattended while I'm completing work

Is there a software fix for this? Or do I need to go to the Apple store for a hardware fix?
