QuickLookSatellite Start Up Warning

I get the following warning upon every start up using a MacPro 10.10.5 and Pixelmator 1.6.5 Nucleus (6292):

"QuickLookSatellite quit unexpectedly while using the PixelmatorLook plug-in". From a previous answer about deleting the "Intensify Pro" app. In this case, that app does not come up in a search.

Any advice?

Try running this program in your normal account, then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. On the screen with Options, please open Options and check the bottom 2 boxes before running. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy Report” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.

Etrecheck – System Information

First:

use the Clean and Remove buttons on in the etrecheck list.

then remove all items from the Login list, then restart.

Second:

now remove/uninstall bad/unwanted software:

-- CleanMyMac: about the worst software you can imagine. Uninstall completely.

-- Wondershare: is poorly programmed software and often causing issues.

-- Sophos: not doing anything for you and often causing issues.

-- Uninstall the Seagate drivers: counterproductive and often causing issues.

-- the same for the WesternDigital (WDC) drivers.

-- The same for Prosoft DriveGenius.

Third:

Do not move anything back to the LoginItems.

Check the compatibility of Stuffit and your other software for compatibility: either on the developer's website or at roaringapps.com

Fourth:

restart after all this and make a new etrecheck list.

Nov 30, 2017 2:22 AM in response to Miles Cortez

With an SSD, etrecheck list speed should be Excellent!

Reread my earlier post.

There are still softwares and/or leftovers that should not be there:

Avira, must go,

DriveGenius, must go,

TimeMachineEditor, must go,

Simble is a mac cruncher, get rid of it

Also,

I recommend to download and instal Java 6 (from the Apple site) instead of Java 8. Remove all Java when there is no need for it.

Unimportant: remove Pepper Flashplayer: does not do anything in Safari and is "integrated" in Chrome.

DGMonitor?, uninstall.

Remove all entries form the LoginItems (except perhaps Dropbox) with the minus sign and restart.

Smart Data: OK, but this is the hardware assessment, nothing wrong.

Etrecheck List: super clean, but still my problem with the disk compartments. May you should have the SSD partitioned/formatted (one partition) before installing the OS....

Please give us the following:

open Terminal, and type in the following command

diskutil list

make a screenshot of the result of the command (with CMD+Shift+4) and post that.

Eric- I am having the quicklooksatellite crash on startup and after start up at seemingly random times. I believe it all started after upgrading to High Sierra. I installed and ran etrecheck and removed and cleaned up some stuff. Here is the report below. I would greatly appreciate any help!

BUG IN LIBDISPATCH: Disposing of timer still in its heap

Dec 1, 2017 5:54 AM in response to Lexiepex

I realized the only external drive I have is going to be a thunderbolt spinning drive so I'm not sure the runtime will be an "apples to apples" comparison. What I did notice however is that the etrecheck progress bar pauses every time at 18 or 19 seconds into the check (during the hardware check). The pause lasts anywhere from 3 to 7 minutes and then the check finishes (anywhere from 6 to 10 minutes total) so I think the pause would account for the delta between "normal" runtimes on an SSD vs my recently reported runtimes. I guess if I can figure out what hardware check is started at roughly 18-19 seconds into the check I may be able to glean some insightful info. Here is the SMART report section of the report:
