Have lost Mastering Effects in Garageband

After the last update of Garageband I have found when I've started to mix new tracks all the decent mastering effects have gone. On the previous version there where loads of good ones, particularly 'Rock Basic Finalizer' but the ones on the newer version are pretty poor.

When I do a mix down now the sound is no way near as good as my older demos

Is there any way I can get the old versions ones back please?

Did you uninstall your GarageBand '11, when you upgraded to GarageBand 10?

The Master effects are still available, if you did not uninstall them.

I am seeing the old presets in the "Legacy" section of the library, when I select the Master track:

If you made a clean install, try to restore all missing sounds from the last backup you made, before you upgraded to GarageBand 10.

You would need to restore the missing items from the folder

/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Track Settings/Master/

Thanks for the reply.

I can find the list of sounds as you say under 'Legacy' but when I click any one of them it makes no difference to the sound and just keeps sending me back to the 'Factory' & 'Legacy' menu.

Also when I do this another track appears under the 'master track' saying 'No Output'

I am running version 10.2.0 and have no idea about restoring missing sounds before I upgraded to GarageBand 10. I do still have the original 'iLife' disc though if that is any help?

You could try to reinstall GarageBand '11 from this disk. That should reinstall the legacy presets.

If the installer gives an error message about an expired certificate, set the system date for your Mac temporarily back to the month when you purchased that iLife disk. Then try again to run the installer.
