I my husband and I have new iPhone SEs and when one of us gets a call both phones ring. What do I do to correct this?

My husband and I have new iPhone SE's and when a call or message comes in it rings on both phones. How do I fix this?

Don't share an Apple ID. That's ALWAYS a mistake and this is but one of the issues. Instead, get separate IDs and use Family Sharing.

It sounds as if your problem is different from the subject of this thread. I suggest you start your own thread. You'll get more and better help that way.


Also, if English is not a language in which you are comfortable writing, you should certainly write in whatever language is easiest for you.

Sigh.....you really don't have to have separate IDs. It's recommended, but not required.


On both devices do the following:


1. Settings > Phone - Turn off Calls on Other Devices.

2. Settings > Messages > Send and Receive - Make sure the other number and/or email address is not checked

3. Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - Make sure you are not forwarding messages
