ksecdd.sys BSOD error on Boot Camp Windows 10

Hello everyone, LTL FTP and all that jazz. So i’m a bit stumped here. My trusty copy of Windows 10 has failed me, and is now stuck on a permanent Blue Screen Of Death. The error code, 0xc0000011, isn’t very helpful, but I’ve read a bit about the file it says is missing, ksecdd.sys. It seems that it’s some kind of registry file or driver program, and apparently that’s the problem. But no matter what I try, I can’t seem to fix it. Nothing in the boot menu will work. I made a Windows recovery tool, and the only thing that works is the Command Line function of it.

The only two things I have available to me is the command line, and the boot camp file structure on the Mac side of my computer. Is there anything I can do to repair it? Also, while I don’t mind losing data on the Windows partition, I’d have to buy a new copy of Windows to reinstall the whole thing, since I don’t have a product key. Any help?

You need to run SFC - Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - and test if it addresses the corrupted file(s).

I suggest that you repair the current installation and make it work. Re-installation should be last resort. SFC should be able to fix the issue.

Can you also describe how the problem started?

If you do not have the Product Key and do not know if it was activated, and the installation is not bootable, you will need to re-install and risk that it is not activated.

You are in a very strange situation.

Build a USB W10 installer and see if you can boot from it and extract the Product Key.

Oh boy, I forgot to reply to you... Sorry man. One or two restarts after a Windows update if I recall correctly. I don't remember doing anything specific after that update installed, just logged in, left it for a bit then shut down I think. Might have been on Chrome some, but I doubt it.

Did that, it didn't fix it. "Error, cannot repair the corrupted files." Or something along those lines. I'm going to reinstall.

SFC (Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files) can help you fix a missing file.

If your W10 copy was activated, you can re-install W10 as many times as you want on the same hardware, because your machine signature is registered with Microsoft.
