How do I copy a location and paste to another photo?

In iPhoto we regularly copied a photo and pasted the location on another photo. We can't see how to do this in Photos. If this is not possible, it is a deal breaker for us and we will revert to iPhoto,

Read this online manual: https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.2/#/phta4e5a733f

That does not help to copy and paste the precise location from a photo with GPS assigned to other photos taken on the same place, ckuan. Photos is not showing the GPS coordinates, only showing the location name from its database, and that can be extremely inaccurate, if there is no prominent landmark listed in Apple's database. And the tiny thumbnails with the maps do not show much detail, so we cannot adjust the pins manually either, because only the main roads and restaurants or shops are shown. If we are unlucky, the places name will be just the name of a city or or an ocean. I have hundreds of pictures with just "North Atlantic Ocean" as the location, so it is impossible to geocode a sailing trip or a hike off the beaten tracks. Apple's maps showing in the Info panel are far better for driving a car than for geocoding photos.

That is why I wrote the Apple Scripts to read the GPS coordinates from an image and to copy and paste them into other selected images, see: Script: Copy GPS tags from one Photo to Other Photos

To use the script above, create an album of all photos taken at the same place, then drag a photo with GPS assigned to the beginning of the album and run the script. The GPS coordinates will be copied to the other selected photos. Or use the script, that Larry pointed to: Script: Extract the Numerical GPS Values Using an Apple Script. I am using it to copy the GPS coordinates, and then I add them to the Info panel for further reference. We can enter a location name also by typing the latitude and the longitude (in degrees) separated by a blank or a comma into the location field.

It is not directly possible in Photos - tell Apple your needs - Product Feedback - Apple

There is a user script to retrieve he GPS data so you can enter it into other photos - Script: Extract the Numerical GPS Values Using an Apple Script

And Old Toad has compiled this and other scripts into applications it that is easier for you to use - http://www.oldtoadstutorials.net/No.P01.html

and if you do have all GPS enabled cameras you may find HouDahGeo ( https://www.houdah.com/houdahGeo/) useful - it is an outstanding Geo location assistant utility

The question is how do you copy the location and paste it

You do not explain how to copy the location (since it is not possible with the current version of Photos) - to get the location you need more as Léonie and I explained

And you do not explain how to paste the location (Photos has no paste location command like iPhoto did)

Then that is fine for you, ckuan. Your method ensures, that all photos will be showing the same location name.

My problem is, that Apple's location database is very sparse in the countries where I like to travel, and I prefer to copy the coordinates of the location, not the name of the closest city, point of interest, or ocean.

I tested again - copying the name of the place and pasting it into the location field for another photo will result in different latitude and longitude values.

For example: Photos has been showing the places name "Tanatoraja - South Sulawesi".

The GPS coordinates of this photo have been -2.9037° S and 119.8967° E

I copied and pasted the location name into the location field of a different photo and the other photo now has a latitude of -3.092827°S and 119.8541469°E. That is eleven nautical miles (or 21 km) farther south than the coordinates I pasted. For me, that is less than satisfactory.
