phone is saying headphones are plugged in or connected when there is nothing. this means my speakers do not work. help

iPhone 5. iOS 10.3.3. Have tried to turn off and on. Connect and disconnect wired headphones. Connect and disconnect wireless headphones.

Your headphone jack could be dirty, and you may try to clean it.

Try following steps:

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker - Apple Support

If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
