Verizon Fios Gigabit - slow speeds on MBP

I got Verizon Fios Gigabit internet installed today and I ran some speed tests. The FIOS router is rated at 949/925 mbps. However, I'm unable to get above 360mbps on Fast or Speedtest.com. When I called the VZ tech they said the wireless card on my 2016 15" MBP Touchbar was throttling my internet speed. He said I need to "run a command line in terminal that will allow my wireless card to run at full duplex". Does anyone know how to do this? Alternatively, has anyone encounter and resolved this issue with an alternate solution? Please let me know. Thanks.

Do you have a USBc-to-Ethernet adapter? You can disprove the VZ theory quickly. On a 2016 tbMBP, using 802.11ac APs, I get close to gigabit speeds locally.

If you are testing wireless speeds inside the LAN side, use iperf inside the LAN.

Theoretical maximum wireless speeds can be lower due to many environmental factors. Out side the VZ gateway, Speedtest is usually fairly accurate. You can also use trace route to get the hops to nearest Speedtest server.

Hey I just saw this article as well. So my setup is Verizon FiOS Quantum Gateway AC1750 as my primary router, a Linksys EA9500 as my secondary along with 2 extenders, and have a Time Capsule wired to the Linksys router as a NAS storage device. I was able to test my wireless speed in the early morning and got 420mps on Fast.com, and 584/576 on Speedtest.com. I've noticed that the speeds have got a bit faster as time passes so I'm wondering if maybe the slower speeds might be attributed to a "break-in" period for the FIOS router. I'm ordering an Anker USB C to gigabit ethernet adapter and hopefully do some more testing to get a clearer picture of my true speeds.

There is no break-in period.

But you can get more throughput from Gigabit Internet by manually configuring Full Duplex, flow control and Jumbo (9000 byte) frames

to get reasonable throughput with additional Access Points, each must be Gigabit-capable and must be connected with Gigabit Ethernet cables.

Cables used for Gigabit Ethernet speeds must have all 8 conductors present, and can not use power-over-Ethernet.
