I'm having trouble importing songs from iTunes (version 12.6.2.20) into GarageBand (version 10.2.0). I've tried the media button in GB.My playlists show up, but none of the songs are there. I've also tried dragging the file into GB, but that's not working either. I made sure the song is downloaded onto my device, but it still won't work. Help!

What kind of songs are you trying to use with GarageBand? You cannot use songs in GarageBand, that are protected by digital rights. The media Browser will not show you songs, that have the format "Protected AAC audio file". You will see the format in iTunes in the Info panel - the "File" tab.
Neither can you use songs you downloaded from Apple Music, only songs you purchased individually from the iTunes Store or ripped from CDs (but not, if the CD has digital rights assigned).

I checked the info, and the format was "Apple Music AAC audio file." I had already purchased the song off of iTunes, so I removed the download and re-downloaded it. The format changed to "Purchased AAC audio file," and now it works. Thanks for the help!

Yes, Apple Music allows us to listen to it, but nothing else.
I have also purchased a song, and it will not import into GarageBand either. I have tried removing the download and re-downloading it, but it still says under the File tab that it is Apple Music AAC Audio File. How can I get my format to change to purchased?
