Change Ugly Covers in iBooks?

This is one of the techniques that I tried, and it no longer works. I tried dragging it onto the book in both list and image view. The image simply pops back to where it was on my desktop when I release the mouse click, and the book cover does not change. I don't know why they would remove such an important feature. 😟

Thank you, picas. It does work for me now. I figured out that my iMac was not downloading the books correctly, which is why this would not work. I fixed that by installing the update for Sierra, which allowed the books to download correctly, but the new covers don’t show up on my iPad, which is where I read. I’ll have to look into this new issue. Thank you for your help.

I believe that only works for audio books. Books are no longer found in iTunes, only in the iBooks app. 😟

Is there a way to get books to show up in iTunes? When I try to select what shows up, Books is no longer an option. Audio books is, but not regular books.
