Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Can't call on any app, microphone doesn't work on any app and any earplugs won't detect when plugging in.

So basically i can't call anyone on anything, for example Whatsapp; when i try to call it wont go over. It automatically says call failed. And that is with any app including facetime, facebook and normal calling.

Forgot to mention that this happened on a random day. I havent spilled anything on it or fall on the ground. But moving on to the microphone.

The microphone doesn't work anymore on anything. Siri doesn't detect my voice, neither does the voice memo app and any other app including snapchat and video recorder, all apps basically.

Another issue is that not a single earplugs will connect to my phone. I tried like 10 earplugs and not one of them were detected.

Anyone knows what could be the problem? This all happened on a random day when everything was fine. Then boom i got these issues all at once.

Help please.

Hi

Follow the instructions here as appropriate, including contacting Apple Support (remote diagnostics and mail-in service may be available, if required), making a Genius Bar reservation or visiting an Apple Authorised Service Provider if necessary:

(Note that Apple advises that you should not force restart your iPhone unless it is unresponsive and cannot be restarted normally).

Have you taken the standard steps for troubleshooting:

Restart: Hold down the Power button and continue to hold it until you see the Slide to Power Off. Power it off, and then hold the Power button down again until the Apple appears. When the Lock screen displays, see if the issues are resolved.

Reset: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Lock screen displays, see if the issues are resolved.

Restore: Before you do this, make sure you have a current backup so you can restore to that backup.

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

Restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

If you go to the Restore step, I would recommend that the first time you erase the device, you set it up as a new device and don't put much on it - just standard stuff. Sign into all of the Apple services you use. Then see how it works.

If it does not work even when you are running a "clean" profile, then it sounds like it would be a hardware problem, and you will have to take it in to Apple to have it looked at.

If it seems to be working the way you would expect it, then erase it again, and restore it to the backup.

Once you have restored to the backup, see how the performance is. If the issues resurface, then that indicates that the data in your backup is corrupt, and you will have to erase once again, set it up as new, and then restore it manually.

If it performs well after you have restored the backup, then you are good to go!

Cheers,
