Does Conference Room work with Windows PC's? Here's why I ask.......AppleTV Gen 3 - Conference Room connect message says "Wirelessly send what's on your iOS device or COMPUTER to this display using AirPlay".

AppleTV Gen 3 (8.4.2) - As per pic below, when Conference Room Display is enabled the message from AppleTV says "Wirelessly send what's on your iOS device or COMPUTER to this display using AirPlay". Since Apple refers to their computers as a"Mac" (which all run OS X now a days), I'm just looking for clarification on wether AppleTV supports a Windows 7 or 10 'COMPUTER' as a source using Windows "Connect to a Network Projector.

If Windows isn't supported, it'd be nice if the message said, "Wirelessly send what's on your iOS or Mac to this display..... .. ." Or "Wirelessly send what's on your Supported Apple device... .. .". Or ""Wirelessly send what's on iOS or OS X device ... .. ." Why use the operating system name for one platform (iOS) and a generic term (computers) that includes PC's for the other, if they mean only a Mac?

And since I'm making suggestions, the URL displayed "To learn more" on Conference Room Display's connect screen is apple.com/airplay. Which is redirected to apple.com/ios/ios-10/.

I realize if iTunes is installed on a Windows PC, audio can be AirPlay'ed to AppleTV. I'm also aware of 3rd party protects like AirParrot 2. Just looking for validation on the question as it stands.

Thanks

I assume the video you're referring to that can be streamed from a PC to an AppleTV, is a video that is being played through iTunes? Basically iTunes can stream to an AppleTV, regardless if it's iTunes on a Mac or PC. But with a PC, no video other than what's currently being played in iTunes is capable of being streamed to an AppleTV. Is that right?

"AirPlay is a technology for Apple products only"...... Well sort of maybe, depending if you consider software a product. iTunes for Windows installed on a Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc is capable of AirPlay.

As per my OP....... "I realize if iTunes is installed on a Windows PC, audio can be AirPlay'ed to AppleTV. I'm also aware of 3rd party protects like AirParrot 2. Just looking for validation on the question as it stands."

Yes, I should have clarified I was talking about AirPlay mirroring, as I gather from your post that is what you are trying to do.
