Is this Sony MP3 player compatible with MacBook Air, iTunes, and Mac OS Sierra/High Sierra?

The iPod nano was discontinued, and I am looking for a good replacement for running.

The page you linked to mentions that it can be used on a Mac (or PC) but by using drag-and-drop to add music to it.
iTunes will not manage the Sony and the Sony will not appear in iTunes.
The player will play AAC files (Apple's default format), which means that music that you have in iTunes should play on that player, although the page makes no mention of high bit rate files or whether all versions of a Mac are acceptable. The best thing you can do is either ask the sales person that has it for sale or see if Sony have a question-and-answers service.

Although the nano has been discontinued, you may still find it in stores other than Apple. Here is the UK, the Argos Store is still offering it and I can find it on Amazon UK. It is listed on the Amazon US site, although they all appear to be offered by "other sellers" rather than Amazon.
Apple still sell a 32GB iPod Touch.
iTunes is not designed to manage non-Apple players.
I already have an iPod nano. I am looking for a replacement for the future (the next 5-10 years). The iPod Touch and the iPhone are too big and heavy for jogging/running. The Walkman MP3 player might be the best alternative.
Do you know of any other devices similar to the iPod nano that can be managed with iTunes? What else do people use for running?
