Hi Hartley59,
I understand that you are unable to move messages to the Trash in Mail on your iPhone. I'm happy to provide some troubleshooting to help with this.
Often when this happens, it's because the mailbox where the Trash is being stored is not supported by the mail server. You can fix this by changing where mail is moved when it's deleted:

  1. Open Settings > Mail > Accounts
  2. Select your email account
  3. Tap Account
  4. Tap Advanced
  5. Under the "Mailbox Behaviors" section, select "Deleted Mailbox"
  6. Select the "Trash" folder from the "On the Server" section
  7. With some accounts, you will also have the ability to map an "Archive Mailbox", which can be linked to the "All Mail" mailbox

You may also want to check that these folders are configured correctly for the Sent and Drafts mailbox:
  1. Tap the "Advanced" button on the top left to go back to the advanced page
  2. Repeat this process for the "Drafts Mailbox" and "Sent Mailbox", selecting the corresponding "On The Server" mailboxes
  3. Tap the "Advanced" button on the top left.
  4. Tap on "Account" in the top left
  5. Tap "Done" in the top right to save your changes.
