Nikon d850 raw support
When can we expect Nikon d850 raw support? Adobe ACR published it today, but i need native Apple support.

Since the last High Sierra update the Nikon D850 RAW is supported on High Sierra and in Photos for Mac.
But only the Nikon RAW L format

I tested Mylio for a while, but it seemed like it might not be "going anywhere". Did not yet have the D850, so no test of that. The Aperture Library did migrate, sorta, but again had no confidence they were intending to persevere.
My main Aperture library is 5.6 TB on a 6 TB Thunderbolt drive. Have been reluctant to try to see if Photos could open it. Do have two clones ready for backup, tho'.
BTW, I would say that Lightroom does NOT seem as crisp on High Sierra.

Since thumbnail support is still lacking it affects also many other programs that use that native thumbnail support.
Hopefully it will come with 13.3...
All in all i see a slower computer on high Sierra while my jumpt from 10.9 tot 10.12 was a pleasant surprise.
Far better than 10.10 and 10.11...
Yes i am on a older Macpro...
I do have the same problem with my D850 camera! It is the first time that takes so many weeks to have the update for a new camera!! D800 and D810 updates and other small cameras where much faster!!
OK - so Nikon blew it. Knowing that people will want to use tools like the MAC and apps like Lightroom, they should have greased the skids on the D850 well in advance.
Wow. Not my experience of Apple products for almost 30 years...
One might have hoped that since the update includes such trivia as "support for 70 new emoji, including food types, animals, mythical creatures, clothing options, more expressive smiley faces, gender-neutral characters and more", it would have included support for the Nikon D850.
However, the official announcement is curiously silent on the matter. See About the macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 Update - Apple Support
Am I right then in assuming that Photos supports Nikon D850 RAW images?
Your point being? Lightroom costs $120 per year. Photos is free.
My point being....if I pay $5k for an iMac, I expect the OS and the native Apps to be "free" and compatible with the latest and greatest !!! There is a reason why Apple drew curtains on Aperture.
Surely the point is that if Apple want Photos to be adopted (which appears to be the strategy) then MacOS will need to support current cameras.
Sorry....my comment just happened to fall in a the thread you had started/responded to, I guess. It was NOT addressed to you; just to the community in general.
Photos is for teenagers iPhotos and Grandmas. It's a snapshot shoebox. I think I have found it. And it is not Apple.
Huh?
at last!
Very sad it is not supported on the normal Sierra .
I like to run a stable system without Root openings in it.
