AMRestoreErrorDomain error 9

Question

I am trying to restore a School owned iPad with Apple Configurator 2. I am getting the following error:

The operation couldn’t be completed. (AMRestoreErrorDomain error 9 - Failed to receive message from device) [AMRestoreErrorDomain – 0x9 (9)]

I have tried a revive and get the same error. Has anyone seen this? I have 2500 iPads and this is the first with this error.

iPad Air Wi-Fi, iOS 10.3.2

I'm having the same problem.

We are using Apple Configurator 2 to prep our iPad before adding them to our MDM server (Blackberry UEM)

It's a recurring problem, that an iPad fails during the AC2's preperation.

When one fails, I have to revive it using iTunes.
