I have a problem with my old iPad2, suddenly it stopped working with "Activation Required"!!!
I tried to do this on Wi-Fi, then on iTunes, but without any success:
When I search help online, APPLE support provide me with only two possibilities: to go to nearest Apple shop o contact via phone on Monday, but today is Saturday night.
Please help.

Same problem just happened to me. I have an ipad 2 (latest updates) and suddenly it restarted and gave me that screen. I found this advice for a similar(?) problem Cannot Activate iPad IOS 9.3 and tried its solutions to no avail. Ipad 2 and itunes both with latest updates.
There seems to be rash of these Activation Required errors and seem to be affecting only iPad 2 models.
I have an iPad 2, but currently, it is unaffected by this issue.
So, clearly, this bug/glitch/error/issue hasn't affected every single iPad 2 still in existence and still running.
Follow the advice.
I have the exact same issue! I also tried resetting my iPad 2 today and got the exact same error message.
