can i shuffle a playlist and save the order

Hey Cheryl,

Here's the closest I can get to doing this:

• Create the playlist. (Let's say it's called Party One.)
• Now create a new smart playlist with these settings:

Playlist > is > Party One

[check] Limit to > [some huge number] > items > selected by > random

As long as the number is equal to or larger than the actual number of tracks in Party One, then the contents of the first list will appear in a shuffled order in the second list. (Let's call this Party Smart.) If you want to reshuffle, just select all the tracks in Party Smart and delete them — the list will automatically repopulate itself.

Now if you really want total control you can create a third, non-smart list, and drag all the contents of Party Smart into that. They'll still be shuffled but you can tweak the order.
