Konica Minolta, not able to print in color

Hello,

I am having some Trouble printing in color on a Konica Minolta c554e PS

there are two queues since we are using a safeQ to authenticate against an AD.

Basically there are two queues in the format

smb://hostname.domain.lcl/Queuename_BW (for black and white) and

smb://hostname.domain.lcl/Queuename_Color (for color)

The Greyscale Queue works great, and basically the Color Queue works as well, if I use a generic PS Driver instead of the Konica Minolta Driver (Version 5.4.0 on macOS 10.12.6), but if I use the Konica Driver according to the manual I should have a "Quality" Tab where I can specify Color settings:User uploaded file

Sadly this option is not available on my end:

Does anyone have an Idea where the Problem might lie?

I have already reinstalled the Printer, and tried different Finisher/Paper Tray Options, without success.

Thanks in advance

Hi soberhofer.

I tried to simulate your situation on my virtual machine. Differences are that I don't have the real printer and I used El Capitan instead of Sierra. The printer driver is the same.

I created a couple of KM printers, one using HP jetdirect socket and the other Windows printer via spoolss. Both of them have the following Options configuration.

Both printer drivers, let me choose, under Quality settings, Auto Color, Full Color, Gray Scale

My guess is SNMP does not return the correct configuration.

I'll try to install the printer manually using Advanced icon when adding a new printer.

To add the Advanced icon, while in the Add new printer panel, ctrl-click the panel title bar and select "Customize Toolbar..."

drag and drop the gear wheel icon to the toolbar and confirm, clicking the Done button

Choose Advances -> Type: "Windows printer via spoolss" and complete the remaining fields accordingly
