iphone 6s + explodes

My iphone 6s + suddenly exploded in my hand, while I was using imovie application, now i have burns in my hands. I was holding the phone in my hand editing some videos while suddenly it became very hot and smoke came out of the side, I immediately put it on the ground and get away because some sparks was coming out of it, in area where the smoke is coming out, it smoked for at least 3 minutes. I did not go near it for another half hour because I was afraid it was going to explode. After I was sure there's no more smoke I tried to retrieve the SIM card but it was already burnt/melted. The phone became very hot, now I'm frustrated that a phone that cost this much has can suddenly explode like that, what if it happened while I was asleep? what should I do, I can't get in touch with the local Apple support because it's down. Please help what should I do?User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

Do you mean that cheap knock-off chargers are not as good as better ones.

I would never have guessed that.😐

I think your comment is inappropriate and I find it offensive. The OP says that his iPhone exploded. I have asked if he used te genuine charger. I mean that using knock-off chargers is the typical in cases when the phone explodes. My comment about ripple voltage was reply to previous conversation which you did not care to read.

I mean "ripple voltage". Cheap Chinese power chargers deliver 5V only on average: the voltage jumps between 4 and 6. So your phone is constantly overvoltaged by these spikes. This can damage the logic board, cause excessive heat or even fire or disable anti-explosion protection of the battery.

Apple genuine chargers are known for their good quality output (they jump only between 4.95V to 5.05V or even less). Apple 10W charger got featured in "Art of Electronics" by Horowitz.

And you made that determination how?

😐

I determined that the iPhone charger in mentioned in Horowitz book by reading it. The first part is first hand measurement I performed myself using an oscilloscope. I tested all power supplies that I had in house and threw out those that do not keep up to specs. None of them was a knock-off Apple charger, as I did not own one, but nevertheless I have found plenty.

My Apple chargers are cheap Chinese chargers. Hmmm...
