BOOTCAMP 6.1 WIN7 MBPRO 13" Late 11

My question is about installing Windows 7 on a Bootcamppartition on a Macbook Pro 13” (not retina) late 2011.OS 10.12.6-(Sierra)

As it says here

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205016 (Table below) you can install Win7 32bit or 64 bit with a corresponding Boot Camp Support Software which is used for loading on a usb stick

But it also says that it needs bootcamp 4 or 5.1

Is this Version 4 or 5.1 ment to be the version of the “boot camp assistant”?

Unfortunately the OS Sierra has only 6.1 installed.

Here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201456

It says that Bootcamp 5.1 does not support 32 bit versions of windows

So i am afraid that 6.1 does the same or even worse will not support windows7 at all.

-And this macbook pro seems to support only windows7 on the other hand i would prefer Win7 because i btw. my daughter is used to it.

As reading here and “all over the internet” its even not really possible to clone the bootcamp partition to the new disk.

So i would like to know if there are any experiences with this Macbbook pro WIN7 Sierra and bootcamp?

If i can do it with 6.1 or may be download an older version of it?

(the background of all this is that this macbook pro is going to get an new HDD and already has a win7 on a bootcamp-partition , which was installed previous to the system upgrades, so earlier it was possible to install easily; but now with the newer versions of boot camp it seems to be very difficult or impossible; yes and the owner of the macbook wants to have the windows on bootcamp for performance reasons.)

Thank you for any help!

Mac mini, macOS Sierra (10.12.3), 8GBRAM,Monitor HP LP2475W

When using the Windows installation ISO on this point do i have to mount the iso (DMG) in finder first?

The ISO should be unmounted and should only be of the appropriate 'bit-ness'. It is available from Download Windows 7 Disc Images (ISO Files) .

IT WORKED AS THE SECOND OPTION in the last post!

"OR i leave the box in the "download latest support software" unchecked?

So i should just keep on without USB Stick? ( and the after "all" installing the .4033 as its said in the instructions of the dowloadlink of .4033"

No Download from within the BC-Assistant necessary.

Going with this: Boot Camp Support Software 4.0.4033

Step 2 "Double-click the Boot Camp disk image" not applicable here, i dropped this step. Works from installation from within windows.

Thank you Loner so much!!!

(P.S.: I wonder why i could not mark your last posting as helpful?, option was grayed from the beginning. IWould have liked to )

Thank you!

Thats just the opposite as it says in the link you provided (Which is the same as in my first posting)

"

These instructions are for Windows 7 and earlier. Check the tables below to see if these versions of Windows work with your Mac:

Windows 7: Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate (Boot Camp 4 or 5.1)

and:

Boot Camp 5.1 supports 64-bit, non-Enterprise versions of Windows 7, Windows 8.0, and Windows 8.1. This version of Boot Camp doesn't support Windows XP, Windows Vista, or any 32-bit version of Windows. Depending on your Mac, you may be able to use an earlier version of Boot Camp to work with other versions of Windows. For details, see the

Boot Camp system requirements for Microsoft Windows.

Are you sure?

Thank you! Sounds very positive!🙂

Two detailed Questions:

1) Will it work with the 32 bit Win7 allthough it says different in the link for BC 5.1 as 6.1 is not mentioned ?

2) STEP 7: "Insert your Windows install disc, or choose your Windows installation ISO, then click Continue. Boot Camp..."

When using the Windows installation ISO on this point do i have to mount the iso (DMG) in finder first?

Great!! Many Thanks!!!

So the first lines of the manual https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205016 are a bit misleading to the conclusion that Bootcamp Assistant 6.1 will not work

" Windows 7: Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate (Boot Camp 4 or 5.1)"

the "Boot Camp 4 or 5.1" should not be written here on the other hand using the Boot Camp 5.1 assistant in an older OS would mean just to go straight forward without using this manual mentioned above.

Corrected. 😉. The distinction between BC Assistant and BC Drivers should be made more emphatically.

I have an issue with the 32 bitvesion of windows 7 now

Step 7

Open the resulting folder.Locate the following files int thisfolder and drag them to your USB Flashdrive. When prompted if you want to replace the existing items on the flash drive, click Yes:

$WinPEDriver$ (folder)

AutoUnattend.xml

BootCamp (folder)

I have not these Files in the Win 32 bits support software dowloaded from here: Boot Camp Support Software 4.0.4033

So i cannot follow the instructions.😟

Any help would be appreciated!

Bootcamp did not offer me to create an install disk on the startup window, only to download the support software and install win7 or 8.
